Lutley Acorns After School Club
After school care for the children of Lutley Primary School
Lutley Acorns After School Club is based in Lutley Community Centre. The club has been run by the same family for over 20 years, with the current owners taking over in 2013.
We have 3 rooms within the centre which are used by the children. The mini hall and room 8 are used by EYFS and Key Stage 1 children and room 3 is 'The Hub', a room used solely for the children of Key Stage 2.
We have a large team of experienced and enthusiastic staff who care for the children and they plan a huge variety of fun and educational activities. The children have the opportunity to access a wide range of equipment whilst at club and the extensive outdoor area offers the space for them to enjoy team games and sports on a daily basis.
Children are offered a healthy snack and drinks whilst at club and are encouraged to gain independence by serving themselves where possible.
We operate a maximum staff ratio of 1:8 and this enables the staff to spend more time getting to know the children in their care. EYFS Children are assigned a Key Worker who plans, observes and assesses their progress. They also complete communication logs which enable parents to give an insight into their child's experience at club. Parents are also kept informed of club activities via regular newsletters. These detail what is planned for the children in the coming weeks, any festivals or celebrations that club will be acknowledging and important information regarding matters such as safeguarding and services within the local area.
Lutley Acorns Holiday Club
Holiday care for children aged 3-12 years
Lutley Acorns Holiday Club runs from the mini hall of Lutley Community Centre. We are open from 8am to 5:50pm Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) during school holidays, subject to demand.
We have a great assortment of toys, games and equipment for the children to use and we plan daily activities including arts & crafts, cooking, quizzes, sports and team games.
We regularly arrange day trips and have visited places such as Cadbury World, ThinkTank and West Midlands Safari Park in recent years. We also have various in-house entertainments such as animal experiences, circus skills and steel pan workshops.
All of our staff are qualified, have first aid and child protection training and are subject to enhanced DBS checks. As with after school club, we operate a 1:8 staff to child ratio.
Children are to bring a packed lunch. Morning and afternoon snack are provided and drinks are available throughout the day.
